John & Leigh Anne Strong
John’s grandfather built custom homes and commercial buildings in the Raleigh, Wake County area, before and after World War II. His company, Strong & Harmon's GC license number was 548.
His father, Lewis worked as a mechanical engineer for NCSU until retiring in 1995. He currently works part-time for a commercial mechanical contractor.
Leigh Anne’s grandfather built custom homes as well as public schools in Michigan. Her father Charles, maintains his GC license in California and continues to work on remodeling projects.
John started his construction career at 17, when he began framing for a local framing subcontractor. He formed his own framing company in 1992, which he still maintains today. Leigh Anne’s business background was in Healthcare Administration.
In 1998, John and Leigh Anne formed Strong Built Homes. The company has grown over the years and builds approximately 10 to 15 homes a year. A consistent Parade of Homes award winning builder since 2001, their residential experience has a vast span from starter homes to those over 1 million.
Whether it is a spec home or a pre-sale, each home is well-built and has the same quality and attention to detail as if it were their own home.
This is a partnership that really works well. John concentrates on the
“bricks and sticks” while Leigh Anne tends to work on the selections and interiors.
They collaborate on the over all design, providing a “husband and wife” touch that brings together the best of both worlds.
A home is a very complex thing. It represents investment, shelter, security,
memories … to us it is all of those things and more. A home is something enduring
that we create to provide all of those things for someone else.
Strong Built Homes not only consists of our family name, it contains the determined strength of our commitment.
